The Hjemmetrening - for alle app and sync service · Last updated 18 July 2026
In short: your journal lives on your own phone. The app requires no account, has no ads, no tracking and no analytics, and we never sell data. An automatic backup is stored in the cloud (EU) under a random ID – not your name or email, unless you choose to add them yourself. You can export and delete everything yourself, straight from the app.
1. Who is responsible
Hjemmetrening - for alle is developed and operated by the app's developer (the data controller under the GDPR). For any privacy questions, contact [email protected].
2. What data is processed
- Workout data: the sessions you log, workouts and exercises you create, progression, milestones and your settings – including an optional first name if you add one in Personal profile. This is stored on your phone and automatically backed up to the cloud under a random account ID that says nothing about who you are.
- Email address (optional): only if you add and verify it yourself in Personal profile. It is used as your personal ID for backup and sync across devices, and to send you verification codes. Without an email, the account is fully anonymous.
- Feedback: messages you choose to send via the app, with an optional email address if you'd like a reply.
- Error reports: if the app or service crashes, technical details about the error (error message, where in the code it happened, app version) are sent to the error-tracking tool Sentry so bugs can be fixed. Error reports are not used for anything else.
The app has no ads, no cross-service tracking and no analytics. We do not collect location, contacts or any other data from your phone.
3. Where the data is stored
- The cloud backup is stored with Railway in the EU (EU West region), in a PostgreSQL database.
- Error reports are stored with Sentry in their EU region.
- Email delivery (verification codes) happens via Resend, which processes your email address in order to deliver the email.
These providers are data processors and only process data to deliver the service.
4. How long the data is kept
Until you delete it yourself. There is no automatic deletion, because your journal is meant to last – but you are in control:
- "Delete data in the cloud" (Personal profile) permanently deletes the entire cloud copy and the account, immediately.
- "Delete data on this phone" deletes everything locally on the device.
- No longer have access to the app: use the delete-account page to delete your cloud copy yourself, without logging in — you confirm with a code sent to the email address on the account.
- If you delete the app without deleting the cloud data first, an anonymous cloud copy remains until it is deleted on request.
5. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have, among others, the right to access, rectification, erasure and data portability. Most of it you can do yourself in the app, without asking anyone:
- Access and portability: "Export my data" in Personal profile gives you a complete copy of everything stored about you in the cloud, in a machine-readable format (JSON).
- Erasure: see section 4.
- For anything else, contact us at the email address in section 1. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Norway: Datatilsynet).
6. Legal basis
Processing is based on the agreement with you to provide the app and its services (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) – backup, sync and replies to feedback – and on our legitimate interest in fixing errors (art. 6(1)(f)) for error reports. Your email address is only processed by your own choice to add it.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes. Major changes will be announced in the app.
